It’s time to level up this summer

Welcome to the Final Fantasy X Summer Pilgrimage Series—a transformative journey where gameplay meets deep reflection and spiritual growth. In this series, join ProfNoctis, an actual professor, as we embark on an epic pilgrimage through Spira, drawing inspiration not only from the timeless narrative of Final Fantasy X but also from John Bunyan’s classic The Pilgrim’s Progress and other meaningful tomes. In this series, each session will guide you through a key chapter of the game, paralleled with essential milestones of the spiritual journey— from the disruptive awakening in Zanarkand to the sacred return to it. Discover how ancient themes like sacrifice, hope, and renewal merge with modern storytelling, and learn how you can transform your own summer into a pilgrimage of personal growth.

Week One

Ep 1: When Everything Changes

Join ProfNoctis for the Final Fantasy X Summer Pilgrimage—a reflective journey through one of gaming’s most powerful stories. With themes from The Pilgrim’s Progress, this series invites you to turn your summer into a path of growth, purpose, and community. This isn’t just a playthrough—it’s a pilgrimage.

Ep 2: Yuna’s Calling

In this episode, everything changes—for Tidus, Yuna, and us. From Zanarkand’s fall to Yuna’s first Sending, we begin a pilgrimage shaped by loss, purpose, and transformation. It’s the start of a journey—across Spira and into the soul.

Week two

Ep. 3: The Road We Walk (With Others)

In this episode, we explore the shift from grief to purpose. Yuna performs her first Sending in Kilika—a powerful, haunting ritual of release—and the pilgrimage officially begins. Tidus is forced to confront not only Sin, but the idea that his story is no longer just his own. The road ahead isn’t one walked alone. We'll reflect on what it means to start walking with others—on choosing the harder path, showing up for someone else's journey, and letting yourself be changed along the way. It’s about embracing a road you didn’t ask for... with people you’re learning to trust.

Week THREE

Ep. 4: Operation Mi’ihen and How Pride Ruins Us

Yuna faces her greatest challenge yet—one that will define the weight of her pilgrimage. In this episode, we travel with the group through the Mi’ihen Highroad and into the chaos of Operation Mi’ihen. Yuna’s faith is tested, Tidus is disillusioned, and the cost of belief becomes painfully clear. As Sin devastates the battlefield, we reflect on how hope, pride, and purpose collide in moments of loss. We’ll also examine The Pilgrim’s Progress and its iconic “Valley of Humiliation,” drawing deep connections between Christian’s spiritual trials and Yuna’s emotional burden. It’s a week about guardianship, humility, and how even good intentions can go tragically wrong.
